THE ART OF ORGANISING OLD CONTENT

Growing your own business from the ground up is about starting where you are with what you have. Knowing this, the content you first created most likely looks completely different to the content you’re producing today.

Growing your own business from the ground up is about starting where you are with what you have. Knowing this, the content you first created most likely looks completely different to the content you’re producing today. That’s why I've put together these simple steps to help you organise your old content and create a consistent, elevated online presence.

HAVE A CLEAR CONTENT STRATEGY

The first step in organising your old content is to have a clear strategy. This will streamline the process of deciding what can stay and what needs to go. Start by considering your target audience and how you can create content that is engaging and valuable for them. Think about elements of your content such as tone of voice, structure and subject matter. Then set clear, achievable guidelines that you and your team can follow into the future.

DECLUTTER YOUR ONLINE SPACE

Once you know how you want your business to show up online, it’s time to declutter. Whether it’s removing old imagery or re-working a blog post, your goal is to create an online presence that feels aligned and authentic. This will ensure your content is engaging your audience and creating a consistent brand that feels fresh and inspiring.

CREATE TIMELESS CONTENT

To prevent you from having to repeat the decluttering process again my last tip for you is to create timeless content. For example, try to avoid creating any time-sensitive content that will date quickly. This will prevent a build up of out-dated content that needs to be regularly refreshed or removed. Keeping your content relevant will create value for your audience and ultimately save you precious time in the future.
