THREE WAYS TO STOP WASTING TIME ON MARKETING
Have you been working day and night to grow your business but don’t know if it’s made any difference? This is a common issue faced by business owners that often results in wasted time and energy. To keep you and your business on track to success, I've put together three simple ways you can measure whether or not your hard work is translating into measurable results.
TIME MANAGEMENT
First things first, time management. Time is a nonrenewable resource that should be used wisely. Getting clear on where you are creating the most value with your time will allow you to optimise your work day and avoid work that isn’t giving you results. Managing your time will also point out tasks that can be outsourced to experts, which will ultimately save you both time and money in the long run.
SIMPLE SPREADSHEETS
If you’re not overly confident with project management platforms then make it easy for yourself and say hello to my good friend, the spreadsheet. This incredibly versatile and functional tool is one of my favourite ways to measure success. From tracking engagement to budgeting, spreadsheets allow you to visualise whether or not your efforts are moving you closer to your goals. The key is to regularly update and review your spreadsheets to ensure you’re making informed decisions that will lead you to success. I currently use Google Sheets to track our content marketing stats, PR progress and client strategy timelines because it’s easy to share with everyone in the team.
GOAL SETTING
Lastly, if you don’t have clearly defined goals it’s going to be very difficult for you to measure the success of your efforts. That’s why I recommend having measurable, time-sensitive goals that can be broken down into smaller, achievable steps. With this, you will find tracking the overall impact of your day-to-day efforts easier, ultimately empowering you to lead your business toward success.
